and according to Andrew Boyd, pirates are the new monkeys. There's a math property in there somewhere if you squint.

This article describes a site where you can log on, aim a rifle remotely, and use it to kill stuff which will then be shipped to your door. How weird is that? It's really a neat idea to be able to shoot a rifle over the web - I think that's pretty damn cool. Using that rifle to shoot and *maybe* kill something is a little different.
5-10 years ago I'd never have believed that I'd be in the position I'm in right now. I want a Mac. I lust after a badass 15 inch widescreen powerbook. When I get home from work I don't want to see Windows. I don't want to be half way through reading a column on the net and have my computer lock up and have to reboot. I want my wife to be able to create professional photo books and movies without having to pull her hair out and give up. I want to get into digital modeling with Maya and do some of the programming projects I've been putting off because Windows XP service pack 2 destroyed my desktop and my laptop can't run for more than an hour without locking up.
The only thing stopping me from making the switch before has been alieved by Microsoft itself with the XBox. Thank you Microsoft for developing a little black box that plays games on my HD projector so that I can only use windows if I'm being paid to.
There is a slight snag though. I know if I buy a powerbook today that tomorrow they'll put out a G5 powerbook or a dual core powerbook for the current price point. There are so many rumors floating around about a new powerbook coming out that I have to make myself hold out just a little while longer.
I was driving behind a Marine on the way in (license plate gave it away). He had two prominent things on the van: "Nuke em for 9/11/01" and a bumper sticker that said: "If you have em buy the balls, their hearts and minds will follow."
Amusing.
I saw a business decal on the back of a truck on the way into work today. It said: "Pitching and Catching Instruction: PinkmanPitching.com"
I laughed until I almost pissed myself.
During a demonstration of digital photography with a soon-to-be-released Nikon camera, a Windows Media Center PC froze and wouldn't respond to Gates' pushing of the remote control.
